Gung Hei Fat Choi!

Gung Hei Fat Choi! This is Pepper. Chestnut and I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous Year of the Pug! (Daddy said it's actually Year of the Dragon.. but since we count in dog years so it'd be Year of the Pug!)

This morning, we met up with our neighbors Choco and Muffin to watch the traditional Chinese lion dance. My brother Chestnut was scared of the lions because he almost fell into the water last year when he was approached by one! So Chestnut was trying to stay away from the lions the whole time while I was really eager to play with them!

The lions jumped, took a lettuce hanging at the entrance, then shred and threw it to us to symbolize the spreading of wealth. Choco, Muffin, Chestnut and I took in as much wealth as we could alright (by eating the lettuce!). We later ran into the God of Fortune who wished us good luck by padding us, so I am sure we should be prosperous enough this year to buy more treats and toys.

Happy 2012!

Happy New Year Everyone!

We started off our New Year with a close to midnight stroll to the Peak, and rang in New Year watching fireworks over Victoria Harbor. Splendid indeed.

Yesterday as we were off to our start to a healthy new year, we found ourselves with our parents at a village called Pat Heung in Yuen Long. Our neighbors, as well as Choco and Muffin's parents (who arranged this excursion) drove us to the New Territories. Unbelievably, as of yesterday we had not yet ever visited this part of Hong Kong. On our hike we were joined by 6 other pooches and 20+ neighbors from our complex. Then the best part was visiting this lovely organic farm where Mummy and Daddy had a chance to pick (cutting) organic strawberries off their runners. We were wild with delight to be able to eat freshly grown organic strawberries in January in Hong Kong.

See photos and videos of us on our walk from yesterday.

Happy New Year!

pugs & smooches xoxo
