Pepper's Birthday!
Hi Pug Pals and fans! Checking in, in what has been a really long time since my gum-chewing episode. Of course, I'm happy and recovered from the two-bags-of-xylitol-gum incident. Happy and healthy as ever :) In fact, last week we celebrated my 4th birthday! Double the fun as there were two birthday girls in 1 week! Mommy and I had loads of cake and I even had USDA dry-aged prime strip loin bites. All the weight loss from the gum-chewing incident has been successfully reinstated with these wonderful puggy cuisine. Take a look at how scrumptious my cake was. Now all in Pepper's belly.

Pepper, the gum-chewing pug
Hi All,
Chestnut here doing some narrating today. I must tell you the latest escapade my 'lil monkey sis, Pepper, has gotten herself involved in this time. In fact, it's so bad that's why I'm relating the story, not her, since she's recuperating.
Last night, Mommy came home to find that her bag had been ransacked, and all the Extra sugarless chewing gum (2 bags, mind you!) had been gobbled up by.. You guessed it! Pepper pug.. Needless to say Mommy was quite horrified, although Pepper was squealing with delight at the seemingly yummy gum. With that Mommy and Daddy phoned the vet, right after they fed Pepper charcoal tablets (Pet Mommies and Daddies take note: Xylitol in sugarless gum is toxic for us doggies! Charcoal tablets help absorb toxins in the body).
Over the next 12 hours, Pepper vomited 5 times, resulting in Daddy taking her to see the vet. The blood test showed that Pepper's liver enzyme was 5X above the maximum level. Very dangerous indeed! Puggies like Pepper really like to live on the edge.
The vet then gave Pepper some yucky-looking and probably yucky-tasting medicine and ordered her to be on strict diet (of chicken and rice) for the next few days. Hmmm... that last part doesn't sound so bad. Maybe I should have some gum too! So bed rest for Pepper for the next few days. You can send some love my way. Mommy and Daddy have been too preoccupied with Pepper the last 24 hours. I sure need some attention and TLC.
Pugs and Kisses!

New addition to family?
Our mummy and daddy have been preparing us for the possibility of a new (temporary) addition to our family. Today a new lady, Hazel, who is from Hong Kong Rescue Puppies, came by our home to visit, and mum brought back a crate with two doggy beds with unfamiliar smells. Mum says tomorrow we will be joined by a foster sister, who is now spending time in Sai Kung, for a month until her new, adoptive family pick her up.
Well we'll show her who's boss! We were oh-so-curious today. Wondering what tomorrow will bring, and if she will make a good playmate..

Gung Hei Fat Choi!
Gung Hei Fat Choi! This is Pepper. Chestnut and I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous Year of the Pug! (Daddy said it's actually Year of the Dragon.. but since we count in dog years so it'd be Year of the Pug!)
This morning, we met up with our neighbors Choco and Muffin to watch the traditional Chinese lion dance. My brother Chestnut was scared of the lions because he almost fell into the water last year when he was approached by one! So Chestnut was trying to stay away from the lions the whole time while I was really eager to play with them!
The lions jumped, took a lettuce hanging at the entrance, then shred and threw it to us to symbolize the spreading of wealth. Choco, Muffin, Chestnut and I took in as much wealth as we could alright (by eating the lettuce!). We later ran into the God of Fortune who wished us good luck by padding us, so I am sure we should be prosperous enough this year to buy more treats and toys.

Happy 2012!
Happy New Year Everyone!
We started off our New Year with a close to midnight stroll to the Peak, and rang in New Year watching fireworks over Victoria Harbor. Splendid indeed.
Yesterday as we were off to our start to a healthy new year, we found ourselves with our parents at a village called Pat Heung in Yuen Long. Our neighbors, as well as Choco and Muffin's parents (who arranged this excursion) drove us to the New Territories. Unbelievably, as of yesterday we had not yet ever visited this part of Hong Kong. On our hike we were joined by 6 other pooches and 20+ neighbors from our complex. Then the best part was visiting this lovely organic farm where Mummy and Daddy had a chance to pick (cutting) organic strawberries off their runners. We were wild with delight to be able to eat freshly grown organic strawberries in January in Hong Kong.
See photos and videos of us on our walk from yesterday.
Happy New Year!

Happy Christmas to You!!
For us what a lovely day it has been, with the exception of the dreadful bath forced upon us. See our presents being unwrapped. Our parents' even got their hands fishy and smelled of turkey oil for the love of pug. The host of lovely gifts included salmon treats from Seva & family with its pungent fishiness, a new bed and dog toys from our Mum and Dad topped off with hand-fed turkey leftovers!
Seva-- sorry our parents seem to have forgotten you this year! We will be so kind to share the yummy Bouchon foie gras treats once we get our fishy paws on them.
See us indulging in our new gifts... Happy Christmas!!
